MAP Training Coordinator, RN
Full Time 24-hours
Schedule Monday - Wednesday 8am-4pm
Pay Rate $38.46 / Hourly

As a key member of the Medication Administration Program (MAP) Compliance team, the MAP Training Coordinator, RN will assist the Director of Nursing in ensuring that premier services are provided to our individuals through trained and professional staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with Medication Administration Program training and compliance, in addition to performing other health-related educational trainings and supports to program staff including, but not limited to vital signs, universal precautions, G and J tube training and competency of administration of medication through these routes.
- Assists with observation of safe administration of medication and proper documentation.
- Adhere to all medical and funding source regulations and employer policies and procedures.
- Ensure and safeguard individuals’ human dignity, rights and liberties.
- Performs and conducts MAP training to new employees, in addition to MAP recertification and transcription training.
- Utilize state and agency software for tracking, training, and any other functions related to MAP compliance.
- May be required to use employee's personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
- Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.
MAP COMPLIANCE:
- Assist Director with audits of Residential homes to ensure compliance of MAP trained staff and documentation.
- Provides ongoing support to Direct Care Professionals with observation of medication administration and documentation of such.
- Assists with report writing and follow up.
- Assists with creating and updating training material and supporting documents such as competencies.
- Reviews internally submitted medication occurrence reports (MORs) providing feedback. Updates and maintains internal medication occurrence report tracker identifying trends.
- Participates in DPH/DDS reviews and follow up requests.
- Assists in ensuring medication administration related policies, forms and procedures are MAP compliant.
- Remain current with MAP Policies and Advisories communicating new and revised information/practice.
- Ensure MAP Trainor status by teaching at minimum one MAP class per calendar year and completing required MAP Webinars and any additional trainings
NURSING SERVICES:
- Assist with nursing assessments and discharges as assigned by Director of Nursing.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Attainment of a Massachusetts license as Registered Nurse and two years of nursing experience.
- Ability to maintain required records and follow procedure in accordance with organization and licensing policy.
- A qualifying criminal background check, driving record and a valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to provide current copy of all required health records and TB assessments.
