NO HOLIDAY, WEEKENDS OR NIGHTS!

Location: 900 Riggenbach Road, Fall River, MA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

The Day Habilitation program is looking for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Paraprofessional to provide instruction and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The employee works as a member of the Day Habilitation team to provide premier services while assisting program participants with daily living skills including but not limited to dining and personal care needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow the daily schedule as written by the Program Director or Coordinator.
  • Complete daily data sheets, including documentation for behavior services.
  • Implement service plan goals as requested.
  • Inform the supervisor or nursing staff of any unusual behavior, sings of illness or injury.
  • Ensure individuals are actively engaged in assigned activities.
  • Ensure all protocols are followed to include but not limited to: toileting, dining, dietary, PICA (persistent ingestion of nonnutritive substances), behavior guidelines, seizures and safety.
  • Ensure positive behavior supports are implemented for all individuals.
  • Maintain all program required trainings.

QUALIFICATION

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
  • One-year experience in a health care, mental health or developmental disability preferred but not required.
  • Ability to escort, assist and/or transport program participants.
  • Ability to work with mental health and/or developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Ability to assist and/or support individuals as needed and in emergencies that require full physical assistance.
  • Ability to physically restrain individuals exhibiting unsafe behavior.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and directions.
  • Ability to work and communicate with others.
  • A qualifying criminal background check, driving record and a valid driver’s license required.
