Position: Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Pay Range: $22.41 - $24.21
Location: Fall River, MA

SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Educator is a key member of the early learning team, responsible for creating a developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers. This position aligns with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation standards, emphasizing high-quality early childhood education and best practices in child development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate, play-based lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development in alignment with NAEYC best practices.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that encourages positive behaviors, social interactions, and active exploration.
- Implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) strategies to promote social-emotional development, encourage positive behavior, and support children in developing self-regulation skills.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children through diligent supervision, adherence to safety protocols, and meeting children's basic care needs, including feeding, diapering, and rest routines.
- Implement individualized learning strategies to support diverse needs, learning styles, and developmental levels of all children.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments to document children’s progress, inform curriculum planning, and communicate development milestones with families.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with families by providing regular updates, hosting conferences, and encouraging family participation in program activities.
- Promote and support an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment that values and respects diversity among children, families, and staff.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, reflective teaching practices, and continuous improvement efforts to stay current with NAEYC standards and early childhood education research.
- Ensure compliance with Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensing regulations and NAEYC accreditation criteria.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to maintain a cohesive, high-quality early childhood education program.
- Participate in required staff meetings, professional development sessions, and in-service training to enhance teaching effectiveness and program quality.
- Maintain all program and Agency-required certifications and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the program
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and experience meeting Massachusetts EEC credentialing standards; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of nine months of experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to meet the EEC minimum hiring requirements for an Infant/Toddler or Preschool Teacher.
- Experience working in an NAEYC-accredited program is a plus.
- Familiarity with and ability to implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) strategies.
- Physicals are required upon hire and every two years. MMRs are required upon hire.
- All candidates must have a qualifying criminal background check. A driver’s license is preferred but not required.
