Early Education Team Leader - Full Time

Annual Salary $50,336- $55,369 ( Based on a 40 hour week)

SUMMARY:
The Early Childhood Team Leader provides leadership and oversight to 2-3 classroom teams, ensuring high-quality early learning environments in alignment with NAEYC accreditation standards. This position involves supervising educators, supporting curriculum development, and maintaining compliance with licensing and quality standards. The Team Leader fosters professional growth among staff while ensuring a nurturing and developmentally appropriate experience for all children.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise and mentor classroom educators, providing coaching and professional development to enhance instructional practices and child outcomes.

  • Develop and manage classroom schedules to ensure compliance with Massachusetts EEC licensing requirements and maintain appropriate educator-to-child ratios.

  • Guide educators in creating and implementing age-appropriate, play-based curricula that align with NAEYC best practices and CLASS quality standards.

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of classroom materials and equipment to support engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

  • Implement and support Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) strategies to foster social-emotional development and a positive learning environment.

  • Conduct regular classroom observations to assess instructional effectiveness, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Ensure a high-quality learning environment by modeling best practices in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum planning.

  • Establish strong relationships with families, promoting open communication and collaboration to support children's learning and development.

  • Support the onboarding and training of new educators, ensuring they understand program expectations, curriculum guidelines, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with administrators and specialists to address the diverse needs of children and ensure inclusive, culturally responsive practices.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Massachusetts EEC licensing standards and NAEYC accreditation criteria.

  • Facilitate team meetings, professional learning communities, and reflective teaching practices to foster a culture of collaboration and growth.

  • Maintain program and agency-required certifications and training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program and its educators.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and experience meeting Massachusetts EEC credentialing standards for a lead teacher; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an early childhood education setting, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor educators, supporting professional growth and instructional excellence.

  • Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, CLASS quality standards, and NAEYC accreditation criteria.

  • Experience implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) strategies.

  • Ability to manage classroom schedules, maintain compliance with licensing requirements, and support a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with staff, families, and administrators.

  • Experience working in an NAEYC-accredited program is a plus.

  • Ability to pass a qualifying background check. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
