People, Incorporated is seeking a Clinical Supports Specialist with demonstrated accomplishments to serve children and families at the People, Incorporated Preschool.

SUMMARY:

The Early Childhood Clinical Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the emotional, social, and behavioral development of young children. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Early Childhood Clinical Support Specialist is responsible for oversight and direction of clinical support to children and families attending the People Incorporated Preschool. The employee will conduct ongoing assessment of classrooms, provide training and consultation for early education staff, and will contribute to the development of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plans that assist children with acquiring, retaining, and improving the skills necessary to function successfully in the school setting and at home.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work under the direction of a BCBA to complete comprehensive assessments of children's behavior to identify underlying factors contributing to challenges or difficulties.
  • Contribute to the development of tailored behavior support plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based strategies to address specific behavioral concerns.
  • Respond to crisis situations involving challenging behavior, providing immediate support, and implementing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to implement behavior support plans effectively and provide ongoing consultation and guidance.
  • Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for educators on topics related to universal supports for effective behavior management, positive reinforcement, and strategies for creating supportive learning environments.
  • Ensure that all materials and resources needed to promote positive behavior support at the classroom level and individual level are available as needed.
  • Offer guidance, resources, and strategies to parents to promote positive behavior and strengthen parent-child relationships. Facilitate connection to community-based supports as needed.
  • Serve as the liaison for all children in the program with identified special needs, participating in meetings with early intervention and school education specialists as needed and as permitted by parents/guardians.
  • Partner with local school departments to implement a referral process to screen preschool students needing more support with the consent of parents/guardians.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders in compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Meet regularly with Program Director and the Clinical Supports Supervisor to review referrals, interventions, and communication with family members and program staff.
  • Attend meetings with teachers, family members, and team members as needed to communicate any concerns and/or progress.
  • Must participate in supervision provided by a BCBA.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Complete all program and Agency-required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supports Supervisor and/or Preschool Director.

QUALIFICATION

  • Knowledge obtained through a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, early childhood education, special education, human services, child psychology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Early Education and Care (EEC) Teacher Certification is required, or the candidate must demonstrate eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Previous experience working with young children in educational or behavioral support roles.
  • Three years’ experience implementing and monitoring behavior support plans for young children.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the provision of behavioral support services.
  • Certification or training in behavior analysis, positive behavior support, or related disciplines may be required.
  • Must be a team player who is creative and enthusiastic and has a positive outlook
  • Must love working with people and be excited to learn more about how ABA and PBS therapy changes the lives of the children and families People Incorporated supports.
  • A qualifying criminal background check is required.
  • Driver's license preferred, but not required.
