People, Incorporated is looking for responsible part time CDL Drivers for a flexible shift, early mornings and late afternoons, to transport program participants to designated locations as scheduled. Experienced Drivers preferred. This is a split shift 7am-9am and 2pm-4pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate and safely monitor a 29 passenger bus.
• Provide direct and indirect supervision of students and program participants while transporting to and from assigned site.
• Follow safety rules and regulations as established by the Department of Transportation and the Department of Early Education and Care.
• Communicate daily with program personnel and develop working relationships with school and childcare centers personnel.
• Submit paperwork including but not limited to mileage logs and attendance sheets timely.
• Inspect vehicle daily.
• Report any and all incidences to direct supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
• Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.

• A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) class B license, with Passenger (P) Endorsement and a School Bus (S) Endorsement is required as well as a School Bus Driver Certification from the Department of Public Utilities (DPU).
• Maintain DOT medical certificate.
• Maintain current trainings and certifications as required by DOT and EEC.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles including maintaining valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
• Ability to assist individuals getting in and out of handicap accessible or other vehicles.
• Ability to work with both developmentally disabled and non-disabled people.
• Ability to follow directions.
• A qualifying criminal background check and driving record.
